Higher education in New Zealand

 As elsewhere, New Zealand follows the three-tier model of education:
primary, secondary and tertiary.
– Postsecondary, or tertiary, education includes undergraduate and graduate programs.
– Undergraduate degrees take three years to complete;
specialized degrees a little longer.

Ideal conditions:

  • Significantly, the Program for International Student Assessment has ranked New Zealand’s system of education of seventh best in the world.
  • Nor is language a serious barrier for the international student.
  • Only fifteen hundred kilometers (900 mi) east of Australia, New Zealanders speak with an English accent that closely resembles that of Australians.
  • This is a peaceful society. Despite all the armed conflicts that have broken out in the South Pacific over the decades, this small island country of less than five million has maintained a level of social peace and prosperity that is the envy of its neighbors.
  • Geographically, New Zealand consists of two landmasses: the North and South Islands, plus many smaller islands.
  • Although climatic conditions vary dramatically by region, from extremely wet to arid, New Zealand enjoys temperate, maritime conditions—the kind visitors adore and which should make your stay perfectly enjoyable.
  • New Zealand is also home to unique species of animal and plant life. Its outlying islands and long coastline contain important marine resources protected by the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
  • The EEZ happens to be one of the largest protected areas in the world, more than fifteen times the country’s land area.
  • All considered, New Zealand is an experience you won’t want to miss.
  • As a study destination, its education institutions stand their ground against those of larger education-exporting countries.
